Poppy Seed Challenge

Thanks to everyone for their sweet comments on my previous post. That blog hop was really fun!

Today I made a card for Lisa Johnson's Poppy Seed Challenge. Before I tell you about the challenge, I have to tell you about whom I made the card for. One of my dearest friends has done me proud--she called the other day with the big news that she got a job, and she is head-over-heels thrilled about it (as am I). So Meg, this one's for you! If ever there was a time to use the "Girly, You rock" sentiment from the PTI Signature Greetings stamp set, this is it.

The challenge required that we use three "seeds" in our project: crystals, a flower stamp, and light yellow:

I used Raspberry Fizz ink to stamp the flower from the Peaceful Poinsettia set on light yellow paper, and added the rhinestones (from A Muse) to the center after cutting it out. The sentiment was stamped with Aqua Mist, and the swirl is the tail from the bumble bee in the Baby Button Bits set, stamped in light yellow (SU!).
The background was stamped with Versa Mark using the image from the Poinsettia collection, and the punch marks were made using the paper piercing tool from SU!.

Here you can see how I attached the flower with foam tape--I think this stuff is great.

And here is a closeup of the piercing and the flower itself. This flower is really easy to cut because the tips of the flower pretty much form a triangle.

So I think I fulfilled all the challenge requirements--this was a fun challenge and I can't wait for the next one!
