Compose a Card with Becky

When I saw the colors that Becky Oehler chose for this week's challenge on her blog, I knew I had to give this a try. Dark blue has always been one of my favorite colors, and the combination of it with soft stone and white here captivated me! She had me at "Hello" when she posted this.

I really wanted to try heat embossing with the new PTI set called Asian Fusion, so I stamped images from that set on some designer paper from Stampin' Up! and cut them out to make this card:

Everything was stamped in Fresh Snow ink and coated with white embossing powder. The twine, cardstock, satin ribbon and button are all from Papertry Ink (Enchanted Evening & Soft Stone). I tied the twine bow first and attached it with a teeny tiny dot of glue, and used double sided foam tape to add more dimension. I have added some extra pictures; I am really trying to work on my photography skills, so I would love any and all feedback about what works or doesn't work about these three pics. Thanks so much in advance!

So I think I will be able to submit this to Becky with time to spare! I haven't even finished cooking dinner yet. Between this post and the gorgeous Spring weather, I am really slacking today!

This is gorgeous, I LOVE the colors. The white embossed flowers look great. I think the photos are great, they are clear and feature your card just fine. I like the angle of the top one the best. I have a new camera and am learning too!

Very, very nice card! I like the second photo best as it seems brighter and the button shows up very well. Believe me, it is hard to take pictures here when the sun does not shine. One day I'll get that photo cube!

Oooh, I really like this. So striking. I think my favorite is how you did the background and then the cutout vase.

I just love it, especially how you used the checked paper and turned the design on its side.

All the little details of your card are so well thought out. I really, really love the little bow. Something so small makes a huge difference.

Beautiful card! It caught my eye right away!

I have to say that the second picture is the best. The first and third show the 3D look better, buy you can't really see and appreciate the left side of the card. The second pic is bright and you can see all the details.

Great card! I love the little tiny bow as well as how you tied the button to the ribbon (I will be casing that for sure!). As for the photos, I like how you gave us a shot dead on and then one from an angle, I wouldn't worry about your photo skills based on these :-)
