Wood working!

Last night Jess and Dena came over for a few hours to stamp, and these are some of the cards that I made. Last weekend I picked up some cherry wood sheets by Creative imaginations and I was dying to use it all up!

I was trying to do more manly cards, since I was making these for my mom, my #1 fan. But I am posting so many pics because I really want to show how easy this wood is to use! I was surprised by how easy it was to ink, cut, tape, and die-cut with. I think everyone should try it out. IT'S REAL WOOD!

Tomorrow marks the last day off from work of my two week vacation. I know I have the weekend to go, but for some reason that doesn't matter as much. Back to work on Monday. We were away at the Cape for just a couple of days, and the rest of the time spent at home has been more fun than I thought it might be.

I spent tons of time organizing the lung cancer walk, meeting with potential donors, getting the word out. It's three months away still, and I feel like I am planning a wedding again. I have met some pretty amazing people the last two weeks. I did a half hour recorded interview with a local radio station this morning and it will air on Sunday. That was a first for me and it was fun!

I realized that people are generous, with their time as well as money.

I realized that work goes on without me, even for two weeks, and that I really didn't miss that much at all while I was away. So I will take two weeks off in a row again next summer. I have not taken 2 weeks off in a row the entire time I have been at this job--in fact, I have not taken more than two weeks total in any year. This vacation was overdue.

I learned that I love massages. I would go for one every day if I could.

I learned that I really do function much better on 8 hours of sleep and I am proud for not oversleeping.

I loved spending so much time at home to play with my doggy, clean, organize, and just chill.

So what's left these next couple of days? I just received my recent issue of CARDS and I will enjoy it later tonight. Slowly. Flip through it 3-4 times. With Teddy snuggled next to me. I will assemble my exercise bike, which is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. A long overdue purchase to help my ailing knee and get me back into shape, hopefully for running again someday. And then maybe do some painting here in the house.

Man, I will miss vacation!

Thanks for stopping by!
