I'm back!

I was away for too long, huh? Almost one month without a post. Sorry about that! I was swept up by being chosen in the top 3 for Becky's challenge a few weeks ago and then was busy eyeing all of the new PTI stuff for their release. Then I had to crank out bunches of Easter cards before I left for my trip to Paris for work. And in between there were tons of other things to handle: birthday parties for my husband, sisters, and grandmother; yard work, and a sick friend. I seriously don't know how it's April already! I hope to post a pic of my Easter card really soon. Stay tuned!

Compose a Card with Becky

When I saw the colors that Becky Oehler chose for this week's challenge on her blog, I knew I had to give this a try. Dark blue has always been one of my favorite colors, and the combination of it with soft stone and white here captivated me! She had me at "Hello" when she posted this.

I really wanted to try heat embossing with the new PTI set called Asian Fusion, so I stamped images from that set on some designer paper from Stampin' Up! and cut them out to make this card:

Everything was stamped in Fresh Snow ink and coated with white embossing powder. The twine, cardstock, satin ribbon and button are all from Papertry Ink (Enchanted Evening & Soft Stone). I tied the twine bow first and attached it with a teeny tiny dot of glue, and used double sided foam tape to add more dimension. I have added some extra pictures; I am really trying to work on my photography skills, so I would love any and all feedback about what works or doesn't work about these three pics. Thanks so much in advance!

So I think I will be able to submit this to Becky with time to spare! I haven't even finished cooking dinner yet. Between this post and the gorgeous Spring weather, I am really slacking today!
