Cards for Grace

Hi everyone,

Please consider sending cards for Grace, whose 8 year old twin sister, Ellie, lost her battle with cancer recently. Jennifer McGuire is collecting cards for Grace and you can view the details here.

I think we can make a world of a difference in this little girl's life. Thank you so much.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by on the Papertrey Blog Hop! This month's challenge was to use your favorite color combo, and I have had this color combo on my mind ever since Lee Anne hosted the Paper Dolls blog challenge weeks ago.  And the sketch comes from Amy, who is hosting the same challenge this week. Yet again, I am doing a bazillion things at once, but I like it!

I am going out for a few hours with my husband but I will be commenting away on everyone's posts once we get home! Thanks for checking out my card!!

Wood working!

Last night Jess and Dena came over for a few hours to stamp, and these are some of the cards that I made. Last weekend I picked up some cherry wood sheets by Creative imaginations and I was dying to use it all up!

I was trying to do more manly cards, since I was making these for my mom, my #1 fan. But I am posting so many pics because I really want to show how easy this wood is to use! I was surprised by how easy it was to ink, cut, tape, and die-cut with. I think everyone should try it out. IT'S REAL WOOD!

Tomorrow marks the last day off from work of my two week vacation. I know I have the weekend to go, but for some reason that doesn't matter as much. Back to work on Monday. We were away at the Cape for just a couple of days, and the rest of the time spent at home has been more fun than I thought it might be.

I spent tons of time organizing the lung cancer walk, meeting with potential donors, getting the word out. It's three months away still, and I feel like I am planning a wedding again. I have met some pretty amazing people the last two weeks. I did a half hour recorded interview with a local radio station this morning and it will air on Sunday. That was a first for me and it was fun!

I realized that people are generous, with their time as well as money.

I realized that work goes on without me, even for two weeks, and that I really didn't miss that much at all while I was away. So I will take two weeks off in a row again next summer. I have not taken 2 weeks off in a row the entire time I have been at this job--in fact, I have not taken more than two weeks total in any year. This vacation was overdue.

I learned that I love massages. I would go for one every day if I could.

I learned that I really do function much better on 8 hours of sleep and I am proud for not oversleeping.

I loved spending so much time at home to play with my doggy, clean, organize, and just chill.

So what's left these next couple of days? I just received my recent issue of CARDS and I will enjoy it later tonight. Slowly. Flip through it 3-4 times. With Teddy snuggled next to me. I will assemble my exercise bike, which is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. A long overdue purchase to help my ailing knee and get me back into shape, hopefully for running again someday. And then maybe do some painting here in the house.

Man, I will miss vacation!

Thanks for stopping by!

Vacation!

It has been a crazy few months here, but I am happy to say that I am finally on vacation. I have posted some pictures from our short trip to Cape Cod, as well as some long overdue Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge cards. And of course, corn on the cob is always a sign that summer is here!

So, here is my card for challenge #9, which was to use an old set. The In Bloom set is kinda old, but I actually just used it for the first time. It took some getting used to and I definitely need some practice with it, especially adding the leaves to the flowers. I love how the bow came out though, and acetate is my new favorite thing to use.

I will continue to update this post with cards for older challenges throughout the week!

Supplies {by PTI unless otherwise noted}
Stamps: In Bloom, Fillable Frames
Paper: Enchanted Evening, white, SU! brocade blue, acetate sheets
Ink: Lemon Tart, Enchanted Evening
Other: Lemon Tart satin ribbon, glitter, Spellbinders labels die

Going to a baby shower!

It has been a long time since I have been to a baby shower so I was really eager to ink up Scattered Showers for this card! Cutting the umbrellas out wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, though I will admit that this card took me a long time to make. I really love how the felt clouds look with this card - reminds me of Pat the Bunny, without the Bunny. Ha! Ha!

{If you're from work, you've already seen this but thanks for looking anyway...I could not resist the urge to prance around the office with this one today. I love how it came out, mostly because of the unique size of the card (about 4"x9") and the felt.}

Supplies {by PTI unless otherwise noted}
Stamps: Scattered Showers
Paper: Lemon Tart, Bitty Dot Basics, SS White
Ink: Lemon Tart, Spring Moss, Plum Pudding
Other: Pearls, lace ribbon (Michael's), Vintage Cream felt, cloud dies,
